Ivana’s Chocolate Cake

A rich and moist homemade chocolate cake that’s easy to make and perfect for birthdays, celebrations, or weekend baking.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 and 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease two cake tins.
  2. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder and sugar.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Beat until smooth.
  4. Carefully stir in boiling water.
  5. Pour batter into cake tins.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool before frosting.
